ConsignIt Mom’s semi-annual consignment sale

Spring is almost here!  It’s the time of year when many moms begin to clean out closets and prepare for the fun seasons ahead.  New clothes, new toys from Christmas all need to find a place.   Are you struggling to find room?  Maybe you are just starting to shop for the summer season?  If so, Evansville has an exciting opportunity coming up this weekend at the Evansville National Guard Armory!

ConsignIt Mom’s semi-annual consignment sale will be held on Saturday, February 14.  If you have not heard of consignment sales, the concept is simple.  Families bring in their gently used (but still great condition) clothes and children’s items.  The pricing and tagging of the items is all done at home before the items are brought in to the sale.  Items are checked over by the ConsignIt Mom staff to be sure that they are of the best quality.  Then they are organized and made ready for shoppers to come!

You can find boys and girls clothing from sizes Preemie to Juniors at the ConsignIt Mom sale.  Many are name brands like Gap, Gymboree, Justice, Children’s Place and Aeropostale, as well as more affordable brands at great prices.  They also have children’s shoes and maternity clothes.  The floors will be full of baby equipment, car seats, swings, strollers, and bedding.  You can also find toys of every shape and size.  There are sections for puzzles, toddler toys, sporting equipment, and books. 

The ConsignIt Mom sale is unique in that they also sell scrapbooking supplies, home furnishings (like new condition only), books, movies, video games, artwork, rugs, and patio furniture.  They also accept designer purses like Coach, Dooney & Bourke, and Vera Bradley.  There really is something for everyone at the ConsignIt Mom sale. 

So… how does it work?  It’s really very simple.  If you are looking to shop, you simply go to the National Guard Armory off of the Lloyd Expressway and Vann Avenue on Saturday, February 14 between 8:00 am and 12:00 noon.  It costs $1.00 to get in.  The doors close at 12:00 to prepare and organize for the Discount Sale, which is from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm.  Many items after 1:00 pm will be half price.  If you have paid to enter in the morning, then you will not have to pay again in the afternoon.  The ConsignIt Mom sale accepts cash, check (with ID), and all major credit cards.

New moms are also given special treatment at the ConsignIt Mom sale.  If you are pregnant, adopting, or have a new baby at home, there is a special preview sale for YOU!  The special New Mom Presale is Friday, February 13th from Noon to 2 pm.  Only the first 50 registrants will be able to attend this special presale, and purchases will be limited to infant clothing and accessories up 18 months, maternity clothing, baby furniture and equipment and infant/toddler toys.  If you would like to attend the New Mom Presale you must register online at www.consignitmom.com

If you are interested in selling your items, the process to become a consignor is easy.  You just register online and choose a consignor number (www.consignitmom.com).  It costs a flat fee of $7.00 to consign, which is deducted out of your proceeds.  You enter all pricing and size information from your computer at home and then print out and affix your sale tags.  Your items are brought to the Armory on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday before the sale.   Then, on Sunday, consignors pick up their check for items sold, along with any unsold items.  Consignors receive 70% of their sales.  A special opportunity to shop early on Friday evening is also provided to consignors as a thank you. 

Volunteers are also needed for the ConsignIt Mom sale.  Volunteers work four hour shifts doing various jobs including hanging, sorting, and checkout.  As a perk, volunteers get to shop on Thursday evening.  Volunteering is a really fun way to connect and have fun with other moms and dads!
