For any little girl, getting your ears pierced is always a big deal. My daughter had gone back and forth for years about this big decision. I recall getting my ears pierced at four years old and when my daughter was that age I gave her that choice as well. At first, she was so excited to have pretty earrings like mommy, but after explaining how it was done she decided she wasn’t ready. Several years went by and she decided she was ready. Unfortunately, we always seemed to have bad timing due to the sports she played not allowing earrings, so this had to be well planned.
After doing a little research about where we should go, we found a perfect place, Camelot Jewelers. We had already been customers for many years and trusted the staff, but they also make this a special experience for each child. I was excited to know that we would be able to get both of her ears pierced at one time by scheduling an appointment and that the cost was significantly lower than other places in town, at only $30. When I called to schedule her appointment we had a slight predicament because we were unsure if our final soccer game would get rained out, however, if it didn’t she was determined to get them done that day. Fortunately, I was told I could call that morning to schedule the appointment once we knew if that day would work. As soon as the game was over I called to schedule our appointment for 1:30 and the excitement began to build.
We went out to run a few errands that I expected to take nearly two hours before heading to the appointment. To my surprise, we were done much earlier so I decided to call to and see if we could come in early. Once they confirmed this, we were on our way. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and the staff was all eager to make us feel welcome. She was told to pick out which pair of earrings she would like and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of choices she had. I recalled when I picked mine out as a child there were only two choices, gold or silver. She had a huge variety and after careful consideration, she chose a pair that had 7 small gems that were all different colors.
She then sat down in the chair and they began marking her ears and measured to make sure everything was lining up correctly. This was it, it was the moment she’d be waiting for! I was slightly nervous because I didn’t know how she would react just after they were done, but the smile never left her face.
She said it did sting a little but she had no tears and they immediately had soothing cream to put on her ears to help. She was in love with her new jewelry and couldn’t stop looking at herself. She was also very excited to join the Super Brave Kids Club and receive a certificate with her name on it.
So, when you decide it’s that special time for your child, I would highly recommend checking out Camelot Jewelers.
