What makes Summer Academy unique?
Summer Academy reflects the educational opportunities provided during the school year at Evansville Day School, but doesn’t lose sight of the fact that summer should be FUN! Academy participants engage in hands-on learning, led by professional educators, while simultaneously serving up an engaging and memorable experience. Play is a critical component to a Day School education, and academy participants spend as much time as weather allows exploring our playground and outdoor campus.
Is the camp open to the public?
Yes! We welcome students from all schools in the tri-state area age 3* - 8th Grade.

When is Summer Academy?
Summer Academy runs Monday - Friday from June 3 - July 26.
Full Day sessions are 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.
Half day sessions are 8:30 am - 12:00 pm.
Soaring Eagles half-day sessions are 12:00 - 3:00 pm, weekly except July 1 - 5.
Extended care is available from 7:30 - 8:30 am (before care) and 3:00 - 5:00 pm (after care).
What will my child do at Summer Academy?
Eaglets (3 - 4 year olds) will enjoy hands-on learning through play, utilizing our outdoor space frequently. They will engage in weekly themes involving fairy tales, cooking, building, rock and roll, science, water, art, and robots.
Rising Eagles (rising K-4th) will get creative through a variety of hands-on indoor and outdoor activities. In addition to “Traveling Tuesday” field trips, students attend specialty classes. They also collaborate, meet new friends, and have tons of fun. Themes this year include: STEM-sational, Movie Mania, Robotics & Coding, Underwater Adventure, Chef’s Academy, Magical Muggles, Mission Control, and Game On!
This year, we are excited to return our Soaring Eagles program for rising 5th-8th graders! Enjoy themes designed with middle schoolers in mind: Labyrinths, Mosaic Stepping Stones, Digital Video Production, Escape Room, Chef’s Academy, Archery, Robotics, and Broadway Bootcamp (with Children’s Theatre of Southern Indiana!). These middle-school-only sessions are from 12:00 - 3:00 pm, but can be combined with a morning Rising Eagle session for a full day.
