Put Your Family First

Are You A Positive Parent?

By Salita Brown January 16, 2021

Is your child's behavior a challenge for you?  Would you like to learn to focus on positive behavior so that those other behaviors show up less?  Is bedtime a challenge?  Meal time? Getting up in the morning and heading out the door? Family First Growth and Family First Success are based on the Strengthening Families curriculum and can reinforce or teach skills to deal with many challenging behaviors. Learn how low-cost and no-cost rewards, goal-setting and consistency can all add up to behavior change. Parents, grandparents and care givers can all participate!

Youth First is a local non-profit whose mission is to strengthen families by preventing substance abuse through their free social work services and programs.  Programs like Family First Growth and Family First Success encourage parents to continue to build strong communication skills with their children as well as learn how to deal with issues that come up throughout their child’s development.  The Family First Growth and Family First Success programs are once again taking place IN PERSON around our community to ALL families with children ages 3-6 and 7-17. During Family First, families will learn the importance of spending quality time together, creating strong bonds, and setting loving boundaries to build on family strengths. All participating families will enjoy a complimentary family meal to start the evening's session, parent session with supervised children's session and end with a family activity.   And, best of all, these programs are FREE!
