We are lucky in the Evansville area to have so many great playgrounds, trails and parks to explore. From swings to slides, to climbing walls and water features, Evansville's parks and playgrounds keep kids active, and are a great place to meet old friends (and make new friends!)
I often get asked what our favorite playgrounds are, so I thought I'd share here with you my picks for our go-to playgrounds and parks to visit in Evansville.
Mickey's Kingdom
Riverside Drive
Downtown Evansville
Mickey's Kingdom was built from the ground up by a dedicated community full of generous volunteers. This 21,000 sq.ft. playground was built for children of ALL abilities ensuring play time for everyone! The park structures were made from recycled milk jugs and have a rubber surface, You will also find the world's tallest solar CommuniTree there.

Wesselman Woods

This plot of old-growth forest is the largest tract of virgin, old-growth forest within any city limits in the United States. As an Indiana Nature Preserve and National Natural Landmark, Wesselman Woods is a surviving remnant of Southern Indiana’s original forests. The Welborn Baptist Foundation Nature Playscape at Wesselman Woods provides play opportunities for children to follow their own ideas and interests within a wooded landscape consisting of rocks, water, and fallen logs, and native plants. With just over three-acres of natural landscape, our Nature Playscape is one of the largest in the country.

Friedman Park is a stunning new 180-acre park that is ideal for family picnics, corporate events, and public concerts. Visitors love the playgrounds, hiking, and fishing opportunities and appreciate the large parking area, wide open spaces, space for food trucks, and multiple public restrooms.
