M Is For Mother

Mothers Day, gifts, contests

By Diane Braun April 26, 2025

This year will mark my 41st Mother's Day.  Over the years, I've received many homemade cards, pictures, plants, flowers, candies, cookies and the unexpected palm tree (long story) from my three kids.  For the past twelve years, I've also been blessed to get those same priceless gifts from my grandchildren. So when I thought what I could suggest for this very meaningful and sentimental day, I decided to go outside the box.  I looked on-line and did some research on some unique offerings for moms out there.  Here's what I found:

--Mothers' Day Event At The Farmhouse:  Whether you’re treating yourself, shopping for Mom, or planning a girls’ day out, we’ve got unique gifts, seasonal scents, and the kind of experience that makes shopping feel like a getaway!  Bring your favorite people and join us for a day designed to celebrate all the love and beauty moms bring to the world!

--Diamonds And Pearls Mother Daughter Dance: Get ready for a fun and unforgettable evening spent in person with your favorite lady! This special event celebrates the bond between grandmothers, moms, daughters , Aunts, nieces with dancing, laughter, and memories that sparkle like diamonds and shine like pearls. Don't miss out on a night full of smiles, great food, music and lots of perfect moments that last forever.

--Mother's Day Flower Pot crafting at EVPL East Branch--Stop by EVPL East to paint a small terra cotta pot for Mother's Day! Includes potting soil and seeds! EVPL Mother's Day

--Mission Barbeque is giving away a Yeti cooler and backyard barbeque bash to one lucky mom entered into their contest at: Mission BBQ.

--If you have a tight budget, think about a gift that costs little or nothing but would be of high value like cleaning her house or her car; gather those photos of you and her as you grew up and post them on Facebook or Instagram; find that movie that makes you smile or cry every time because it reminds you of the kind of mom she is and share it with her (with fresh-popped popcorn, of course); make a list of everything you have to thank her for--THAT would make any mom's day!

Thinking of all moms this special day and appreciating everything you do! Whether it's homemade or store-bought, know that it comes from the heart.

And to the three people who call me "Mom", you are the best gift I've ever received.
