This year will mark my 36th Mother's Day. Over the years, I've received many homemade cards, pictures, plants, flowers, candies, cookies and the unexpected palm tree (long story) from my three kids. For the past seven years, I've also been blessed to get those same priceless gifts from my grandchildren. So when I thought what I could suggest for this very meaningful and sentimental day, I decided to go outside the box. I looked on-line and did some research on some unique offerings for moms out there. Here's what I found:
--RNR Tire Express is giving away a car, yes, a BRAND NEW CAR to the mom whose entry is chosen as the winner of their contest. Enter at: https://www.rnrtires.com/mom/.
--Mission Barbeque is giving away a Yeti cooler and backyard barbeque bash to one lucky mom entered into their contest at: https://mission-bbq.com/moms.
--Showplace Cinema has a special screening of "The Story of Mother's Day". They're open and ready to seat you in movie theatre comfort! .https://www.showplacecinemas.com/
--Moms Supporting Moms Brunch and Workshop is for mothers in all stages of life to explore the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of parenting. Mothers will learn techniques to assist in raising happy, healthy, and confident families, with guidance from three local Moms who specialize in physical training, nutrition, psychology, and behavior. Throughout the series, attendees will be given the opportunity to network with local mothers and intimately explore what it means to be a mom in 2021.
Brunch will be included with the workshop and mother mingling social hour will follow the event. Sun, May 23, 2021 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM CDT Evansville Country Club
--Painting With A Twist on Saturday, May 8 at 1:00, presents a paint session titled Lovely Roses. https://www.paintingwithatwist.com/studio/evansville/event/2643514/
--Treat mom to a delicious dining experience at the Owensboro Convention Center. Enjoy a brunch buffet with breakfast, entree, and dessert stations on Sunday, May 9, Questions and special requests can be directed to: sales.owensborocenter@spectraxp.com.
--If you have a tight budget, think about a gift that costs little or nothing but would be of high value like cleaning her house or her car; gather those photos of you and her as you grew up and post them on Facebook or Instagram; find that movie that makes you smile or cry every time because it reminds you of the kind of mom she is and share it with her (with fresh-popped popcorn, of course); make a list of everything you have to thank her for--THAT would make any mom's day!
Thinking of all moms this special day and appreciating everything you do! Whether it's homemade or store-bought, know that it comes from the heart.
And to the three people who call me "Mom", you are the best gift I've ever received.
