New Children's Book By Local Author

By Diane Braun August 13, 2022

Many people in our community who have ever experienced a presentation by storyteller Mary Jo Huff understand the enthusiasm she shares for teaching children. Her commitment to reading is evidenced in her involvement in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Warrick County, making sure parents register upon the birth of a child to receive a free book monthly for the first five years of their child's life.

Mary Jo Huff is a multi-award winning author, recording artist, storyteller, and early childhood educator with 38 years of experience. Now she has a book of her own to share.  No, No Ebenezer is here!  Based on an actual dog that Mary Jo knows in Arkansas, the book reflects Ebenezer's daily "no-no's". Being a witness to these attention-getters while visiting his home as well as during phone calls, Mary Jo recently told me the story of the real-life dachsund whose antics caught her eye. The story just came naturally with Mary Jo doing the writing and illustrator/art teacher Dylan Hale doing the drawing. Once a publisher was on board, the rest, as they say, is history.

Available now at Barnes and Noble and Amazon, this children's book is one you certainly want to share with the young ones in your life--this Mimi definitely will!
