Being a witness to these attention-getters while visiting his home as well as during phone calls, Mary Jo recently told me the story of the real-life dachsund whose antics caught her eye. The story just came naturally with Mary Jo doing the writing and illustrator/art teacher Dylan Hale doing the drawing. Once a publisher was on board, the rest, as they say, is history.
