Local Pizza Preview

Have You Been To Pangea Kitchen?

By Diane Braun January 22, 2023

For the final article in a series highlighting local pizza restaurants, we enjoyed Pangea Kitchen!  Not your typical pizza parlor, but full of great tasting alternatives that maybe, just maybe, you've never tried on a pizza.

My guest and I went on a Thursday evening.  We didn't realize there was a concert at the Ford Center later that evening so we were surprised by the line waiting to place their order. A group ahead of us overheard us debating what to get and recommended several different choices.  I'm a little more adventurous than my guest so I went with the Neopolitan White Sauce Pancetta.  Yes, those are brussel sprouts on the pizza above. What a great pizza it was!  One thing we noticed on their menu is the variety of healthy choices. So many fresh vegetables, cheeses and meats. My guest was more traditional so he ordered the Detroiter: a deep dish pepperoni pizza covered in melty cheese. And definitely save room for some of their house-made frozen gelato cake!

The dining room was small but with larger tables that can accomodate families.  We noticed that many of the couples went into the large bar area which is connected to the dining area.

Pangea Kitchen has this to say about itself: At Pangea Kitchen, old-world traditions meld with new-world adaptations, creating a destination for those who have a taste for the unexpected.
