I recently spoke with Mandy Ashby, a life-long Henderson resident, mother of three, who has created a super-unique art experience in her hometown of Henderson. Here's how she describes it:
I opened Wild at Art in August of 2023. After working in the service/hospitality industry for almost 20 years, I was utterly burned out. Long hours, being away from my kids, always on call- plus the COVID and post-COVID issues faced by the industry had all taken their toll and I knew I needed a change.
Personally, i am no “artist”, but as a family, we always loved finding fun ways to be creative together. Whether making slime, painting, trying the newest Pinterest project, or coming up with our own ideas - being creative brought us all together. We always dreamed of creating a business that would allow us to share that joy in creativity with others. A place where people could go to paint, be creative & crafty, have parties, and enjoy art with family and friends… and so that is what we did!

Wild at Art is a one of a kind creative space and a unique party venue where guests can PAINT, CREATE, & PARTY! Our splatter paint room is a one of a kind experience where guests of all ages can let their creativity GO WILD and let the paint fly! Guests are provided paint suits/protective gear, paint, canvas, and all the brushes & tools to have a truly wild time and make your own splatter masterpiece! An activity the whole family can enjoy together!

We also offer painting instruction led by local artists, paint pouring, canvas painting, texture painting, & more! We host lots of fun painting events or book any of our painting activties for your next party or small group! The studio offers fun CREATE & CRAFT activities like SLIME making sessions, clay play & paint, bracelet making, paint & plant, seasonal crafts, and more. We host craft events for all ages or you can book one of our craft activities for your small group or private event. We offer PAINTING PARTY PACKAGES (say that 3X!) and CRAFT EXPERIENCES to celebrate YOUR NEXT BIRTHDAY, GENDER REVEAL, TEAM BUILDING, or ANY excuse to party! Our party space accomodates up 40 guests and we offer balloon and decor packages to take your party to the next level!
As a first time business owner creating a business concept from scratch, this endeavor has been a constant learning experience with lots of unique challenges and ups & downs. But seeing the smiles on the faces of my customers, seeing families making memories together, seeing young and old explore their creativity & grandparents painting with grand kids - makes my heart so full and all the hard work - totally worth it! We hope to continue to grow and learn to serve our community for years to come with a fun and unique creative space for all ages to enjoy.
