Is your child a runner? Loves to be part of something BIG? The YMCA Kids' Half Marathon is for them! Participants in kindergarten to 8th grade, are asked to complete 12.5 miles of running or walking prior to race day, September 21st. Kids will track their mileage on the mileage log provided by the YMCA. On race day, kids will receive a Kids’ Half Marathon race medal and t-shirt. Families are encouraged to stick around after the race for the WNIN KidsFest. There will be fun for all ages!
Check in will take place on September 21st beginning at 8am in front of the WNIN building downtown (Main and 1st St), the race will begin at 8:30am. Kids will finish where they started under the same finish line the adults will cross on October 5th.
Yes, adults participate too! The Evansville Half Marathon is happening on October 5th. The Evansville Half Marathon was founded to bring a first-rate racing event to the community – promoting health and well-being for all while generating funds to further the YMCA's mission. This half marathon is a fundraiser for the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana, proceeds benefit youth programs in our community. Participants will experience Evansville parks and neighborhoods, run past historic Bosse Field and through Garvin Park, make their way through the Pigeon Creek Greenway, and finish back in Downtown Evansville. Finishers receive a custom medal to add to any collection. With hundreds of volunteers, the Evansville Half Marathon is an experience where you will enjoy running 13.1 miles.
