Where Will 2025 Take You?

From The Publisher

By Diane Braun December 27, 2024

Here we are-a new year! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season.  We had a busier month of December than we're used to. My husband and I moved into a new house ten days before Christmas. This was all kind of unexpected: back in the Spring, our son-in-law and daughter approached us with a question. They were offered an opportunity to buy a property in Newburgh that housed a boarding kennel.  Sitting on eight acres, it also includes a house. Would we be willing to partner with them to purchase it and live there? After many questions, we decided to go forward with it. We got our home of 32 years ready to put on the market, the for sale sign went up in August.  Five days later it was sold. Since we couldn't take possession of the new house until mid-December, we moved in with our daughter's family. Us and our two dogs. Their four dogs. Two little boys. We survived and got the keys to the house and kennel a couple of weeks ago. My husband and son-in-law are running the kennel and we're looking forward to many years of getting to know all the dog-lovers who trust Woofers & Whiskers.

What did I learn from this? Well, we had WAY TOO MUCH stuff. Purged a lot. Rethinking those impulse purchases a little more now. We adapted, they adapted to all of us sharing a house for six weeks. Now, it seems we appreciate our own space a little more than we used to.

A new year has way more meaning this time around. I hope you are excited about a fresh start whether it's a change of job, housing or just looking at life with new perspective. It can be a little challenging at times but, hopefully, all the stress will be worth it.

My wish for you is that 2025 brings you new adventures. I hope you continue to keep Macaroni KID Evansville coming to your email address and check with us often to find fun things to do with your family. As I celebrate my fourth year as publisher, I will strive to keep posting on our events page as well as Facebook.
