Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Has Arrived!

March 22, 2025

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is a fully-equipped medical clinic on wheels that will deliver free or reimbursed care to underserved women of child-bearing age, pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and infants up to 12 months in their own neighborhoods. The Care Mobile eliminates many of the barriers that underserved families face in accessing healthcare services while raising awareness for healthy lifestyles and reducing reliance on emergency rooms for care.

  • The initial goal is to reduce fetal and infant mortality by providing clinical care and programming to increase breastfeeding through 12 months, birth weights, 1st trimester prenatal care, safe sleeping practices and maternal mental health.
  • According to the Vanderburgh County Health Department, fetal and infant mortality is a direct reflection of both the physical and mental health of our community.
  • Ours is the first collaborative program of its kind with Deaconess Women’s Hospital signed on as lead clinical partner
  • Ascension St. Vincent, ECHO Health Care, USI, and the Vanderburgh County Health Department committed. As our founding mission partner, McDonald's is also part of our collaborative efforts.
  • Because infant mortality rates are disproportionately higher among African-American and Latino populations, removing barriers to clinical care and education will equalize their attainment of healthier outcomes to align with those of other populations not defined as at-risk.
  • The Care Mobile program is scheduled to launch in spring 2025.
