Celebrate 250 Years And More In Evansville!

Plans are underway for a large-scale, one-of-a-kind experience that will be uniquely Evansville—something designed to bring the community together and mark this milestone in a way that can’t be replicated anywhere else. Details will be announced as they’re finalized, but it’s one more reason to keep Evansville on the radar in 2026.

Together, these experiences—and the events and exhibitions happening throughout the year—create a natural framework for exploring America 250 in Evansville.

 America 250: Events Across Evansville

From spring through late fall, Evansville’s calendar fills in with events that explore history from multiple angles—through storytelling, celebration, and community traditions.

 At Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science
The Pieces of the Past: 250 Speaker Series anchors the year with a rotating lineup of talks and walking tours. Topics range from civil rights history and politics to architecture, true crime, and cultural milestones, offering new perspectives on Evansville’s place in the broader American story.

 May 29–30 | Downtown Evansville
ShrinersFest
A full weekend along Riverside Drive transforms downtown into a lively street festival with food trucks, local vendors, live entertainment, amusement rides, and a beer garden.

 July 4 | Downtown Riverfront
Fireworks on the Ohio
The city’s largest public celebration brings thousands to the downtown riverfront for an evening of food trucks, family activities, and a fireworks display over the Ohio River.

 July 20–25 | Vanderburgh County 4-H Center
Vanderburgh County Fair: Stars, Stripes & Fair Nights
A week-long tradition featuring grandstand shows, 4-H exhibitions, carnival rides, and classic fair food, with this year’s theme tying into the 250th anniversary.
